Megan E. Burnett is an attorney at St. Johns Law Group, where she focuses her practice on real estate law, contracts, and land use matters. With a strong foundation in contracts and property rights, Megan helps clients achieve their goals in a region known for its fast-growing communities, historic preservation concerns, and evolving zoning requirements. Areas of Practice

Megan advises individuals, businesses, investors, and developers on a wide range of legal issues, including:

  • Real Estate Transactions & Closings – Representing buyers, sellers, and investors in both residential and commercial property deals, including contract drafting, review, and negotiation.

  • Land Use & Zoning – Guiding property owners and developers through zoning approvals, comprehensive plan amendments, variances, permitting, and development agreements before local boards and commissions.

  • Contracts & Agreements – Drafting, reviewing, and enforcing real estate contracts, purchase and sale agreements, leases, and development-related agreements, including specialized experience with manufacturing related contracts.

  • Property Rights & Disputes – Assisting with boundary disputes, easements, title issues, and other conflicts involving real property.

Megan is detail oriented, provides clear communication, and practical problem-solving skills. Clients value her ability to anticipate challenges in real estate and contracts, and to provide straightforward guidance that balances legal requirements with business goals. She works closely with clients at every stage of a transaction or development project, ensuring compliance while protecting their long-term interests.


Education & Background

Megan earned her undergraduate degree from the University of Florida and her Juris Doctorate (J.D.) from Barry University, Dwayne O. Andreas School of Law. During her studies she participated on the Moot Court team, was a teaching assistant in Contracts and help edit the Contracts text book, earning her credit in the publication.  She now applies that experience and knowledge to serve clients throughout St. Augustine, St. Johns County, and the greater Northeast Florida region.


Community & Commitment

As a resident of St. Johns County, Megan has a deep appreciation for the balance between growth and preservation that defines the region. Her work supports homeowners, builders, developers, and local businesses who are shaping the future of Northeast Florida while respecting its unique character.  Megan is active at Colonial Church and serves many weekends as part of her commitment to our community.

Megan plays tennis and is an avid fan of the outdoors, often fishing in tournaments with the Official Team of Egret Boats
